A Covid-19 Message from Mr. Bell Covid-19 Message from Mr. Bell<div>Good Day Bayview PS Families. </div><div><br></div><div>I hope that you and your family are doing well during this unprecedented time.  I wanted to inform you that we are working hard to support your child’s learning, and to develop a Continuity of Learning plan for our students, should school closures extend beyond April 5. </div><div><br></div><div>Over the next few days, your child’s classroom teacher will be contacting you to check in and determine what the best method of communication will be going forward. We want to ensure you that we are doing all we can to support your child’s learning. </div><div><br></div><div>As announced on March 23, the Ministry of Education has launched Learn at Home, an online portal with resources to support student learning until April 5.  We encourage you to visit our board website at, for more detailed information about Learn at Home and other matters related to COVID-19. </div><div><br></div><div>The staff at Bayview are missing our students and we hope that they are well.  We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work on the next steps in ensuring ongoing learning opportunities for our students.</div><div><br></div><div>Stay safe and remember to do your part and exercise social distancing, so that we can try and stop this pandemic.</div><div><br></div><div>Thank you</div><div><br></div><div>Jeff Bell</div><div><br></div><div>Principal<br></div><p><br></p>

Closure of outdoor recreational amenities of outdoor recreational amenities<p>In accordance with the provincial direction in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the use of outdoor recreational amenities, including basketball courts, baseball diamonds and soccer fields, is not permitted. In addition, permits for the use of these amenities will not be scheduled until further notice. The use of playgrounds is permitted provided that public health measures, including physical distancing and limits on outdoor gatherings, are followed. <br><br>Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time. <br></p>

BOOK FAIR FAIR<p style="text-align:right;">​T<span style="text-align:right;">hursday, May 2</span><sup style="text-align:right;">nd</sup><span style="text-align:right;">, 2019</span></p><p>Dear Parents/Guardians,</p><p> </p><p>The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school and you are invited to come and share in this celebration of literacy with us!</p><p> </p><p>Now more than ever, reading is vital to leading a better life. Knowing how to read is just the beginning. Motivating young people to <em>keep reading</em>, comprehend what they read and develop the ability to think creatively are the end goals. </p><p> </p><p>Scholastic Book Fairs has the books to motivate more reading. With your involvement, we can inspire children to practice reading and read more often. Talent Show Show<p style="text-align:center;"><span class="ms-rteFontSize-4">TALENT SHOW</span></p><p style="text-align:center;"> </p><p>On Wednesday, May 8<sup>th</sup>, 2019, Bayview Public School will be hosting its annual Spaghetti Dinner and Talent Show in the gymnasium. All students, and their families are welcome to join us for the spaghetti dinner starting at 5:45pm. Tickets for this event can be purchased through the school for $5 each. Each guest is required to have a ticket to the spaghetti dinner in order to attend the talent show. This is a fundraiser- a great way to support the school and also its very talented students.</p><p> </p><p>LAST CALL!!!! </p><p>The video portion of the talent show is still accepting videos! This is the LAST chance for your child's talent to be shown on the large screen in the gym before the live talent show begins.</p><p>Send videos to : <a href=""></a></p><p>Please let us know if you need support with this. Bayview Speech Contest Speech Contest<p>​<strong>Bayview Speech Contest</strong></p><p>On Monday, March 4<sup>th</sup> at 9:30am, interested parents and guests are invited to attend our Bayview Speech Contest. Participants will be Junior and intermediate students who are competing for a chance to represent our school at the Lions Club Effective Speaking competition.  Consider coming out and supporting our students as they sharpen their oratory skills!</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><br></p>
Bring in new socks for "Socktober" in new socks for "Socktober"<p>​Please bring in any new socks to help those in need as the cold weather approaches.<br></p><p>We will be donating all of them to a local charity. Help spread the word.<br></p>
Winter Clothing and Halloween Eco Swaps Clothing and Halloween Eco Swaps<p>​As a way to limit the impact on our landfill sites, Bayview will again be hosting a Winter Clothing Swap. In addition, we will be adding a Halloween Costume Swap! Thanks to Mrs. Nicoll for the idea for this great addition to our swaps!</p><p>How does it work?</p><p>Simply bring or send any of your child's outgrown, gently used winter wear ( coats, hats, scarves and mittens or gloves OR any Halloween costumes that you may be finished with. You can place them in the designated area in the library then help yourself to anything your children, or your family or friends' children can use. Save our environment and some $$$. It's a win, win! <br></p>
