Scholastic Book Fair November 14-16 Book Fair November 14-16<p>We will have books and gift items for sale during our Fall Scholastic Book Fair.  The book fair runs Tuesday November 14 from 3:20-5:00.  On Wednesday November 15 every class will visit the book fair during the school day and the book fair will be open at first recess and from 3:20-5:00 after school.  Thursday November 16, the book fair will be open at first recess and from 3:20-8:00pm after school.  </p>
Author/Composer Jean Miso to Visit Bayview School Jean Miso to Visit Bayview School<p>Dear Parents/Guardians:The month of November/November 11 th , holds a special place in the hearts and minds of all Canadians as we<br>pause to reflect on the loss and devastation of war. The majority of us have never faced battle, but we understand the debt owed to the soldiers that fought bravely for us in two World Wars, Korea and now in Afghanistan. Canada would not be the country we enjoy today without their sacrifice.<br></p><p>On the afternoon of November 16, Toronto author/composer Jean Miso is coming to our school to make presentations to our grade 1 to grade 8 classes. She will talk about 2 of her books, “Their Duty, Our Pride” and “Vimy! Valour! Victory”. She will also teach our<br>students vocally and with the use of sign language her song “Honour and Pride”. In return, we are asking students to either purchase one of Jean’s books or bring a loonie or a toonie to school to support her charitable goal of purchasing a home for homeless veterans. </p><p><br>Please feel free to visit her website to learn more about Jean. <a href=""></a><br></p><p>After school on November 16, Jean will be at the Bayview Book Fair in the library. Come out for Our BBQ and Meet the Teacher Night Sept. 27 out for Our BBQ and Meet the Teacher Night Sept. 27<p>​Please join us for the Bayview Barbecue and Meet the Teacher night tomorrow, Wednesday September 27, 2017.  Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, cupcakes and drinks will be sold 5:00pm to 6:30pm.  Classrooms will be open to meet the teacher 5:30-6:30 pm.</p><p>Visit our community first responders who will be set up outside the school with emergency vehicles.</p><p>Drop by the library to browse our used book sale, and to sign up online for November Student Involved Conferences.</p><p>There will be an information meeting about the Grade 8 Ottawa Trip in the library at 6:15pm.</p>
